Start the Server Manager, open the Dashboard and click on ‘Add roles and features’.

Click on ‘Next’ in the dialog box that opens.

In the next step choose the first option and click on ‘Next’.

Now choose the correct server. Usually there will be just one to be available Click on ‘Next’.

Under Roles, select the entry ‘Webserver IIS’.

Confirm the selection in the control prompt via ‘Add Features’.

The role will than be marked. Click on ‘Next’.

Don't make any changes in the sector ‘Features’ and just click on ‘Next’.

Same procedure as in the last step: Just click on ‘Next’.

Then select ‘.NET Extensibility 4.x’ under ‘Web Server/Application Development’ in the ‘Role Services’ area.

Confirm this selection and click on ‘Add Features’ again.

Then select ‘ASP.NET 4.x’ in the same section.

Confirm again via ‘Add Features’.

Then click on ‘Next’.

Then start the installation process and click on ‘Install’.

When the installation is complete, click ‘Close’ to exit the wizard.

Test the successful installation by using a web browser and entering the address

http://localhost

The web browser should then display the following page.
